After Malacca, I journeyed on to Singapore. My first stop was Chinatown to see some of the tourist spots. I was lucky to make it to Liao Fan as per my friend’s suggestion. Liao Fan, a well-known cheap Michelin-starred restaurant serving Cantonese style soya sauce dishes, hit the spot! When I got to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple there was a service taking place and the monks were chanting. In the nearby market, I found a fragrance shop and ended up buying some locally sourced essential oils called “Musk Ameera” and “Sabaya.” I continued along the waterfront and made it to the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel for sunset. That night, the light show on the water was fantastic. There was a mix of classical, traditional, electronic, and rock music and I thought that combination complimented the diversity of the city. I ventured on to the Supertrees to catch the Gardens By The Bay light and sound show. So, my experience in Singapore was great! I could even see myself working in downtown Singapore.
